About Patrick M. O’Flaherty, D.D.S.

Dr. Pat O’Flaherty graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry, Summa Cum Laude, as the class of 1978 valedictorian. He served on the faculty there for many years while practicing dentistry at the Downers Grove office he opened in 1980, after completing a General Dentistry residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics.

His dedication to continuing education has earned him a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry as well as membership as an alumnus of the Pankey Institute of Advanced Dental Education. He is currently a Clinical Instructor at the Kois Center and the Dental Director of Alliance for Smiles. He has taken multiple trips to China and the Philippines to help children with cleft lips and palates with Alliance for Smiles.

Dr. O’Flaherty is a member of many professional organizations as well as a member of Downers Grove Rotary Club and St. Joseph Parish.  He lives with his wife, Lorie, in his hometown of Downers Grove. He has two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter.

His passion for photography began over 30 years ago and is now the driving force for his travels around the world. He enjoys capturing the beauty of nature as well as the action and excitement of sports. Some of his more unique photos include Ecuadorian hummingbirds, the many inhabitants of the Galapagos Islands, polar bears near Churchill, Canada and Spitsbergen, the Masa Mari tribe in Kenya, underwater photos of whales, and stop-action shots of the World Series-winning Chicago White Sox team.

He gives many motivational photo presentations each year. He is available to talk to your group.
